Biography

A technology industry veteran, Jane Herndon has a passion for creating value through

customer development and business model innovation. She has helped both small

business and corporate entrepreneurs develop solutions, find promising markets and

raise millions in financing. In 2016, Jane won a federal innovation challenge to adapt

Lean LaunchPad® / NSF I-Corps™ commercialization methods to small business

entrepreneurs.

She currently serves as a business mentor through her work with McLennan SBDC and

the regional innovation ecosystem, as well as an advisor to LAUNCH business

accelerator at the Baylor Research & Innovation Collaborative (BRIC).

Jane co-founded a cloud-computing unit of software firm Novell, Inc. and the North

American Digital Business Strategy practice at Cambridge Technology Partners. There,

she led management consulting engagements for a variety of blue chip clients, agencies

and venture-funded startups.

Before Novell-Cambridge, Jane was responsible for market development at GE

Information Services (now OpenText), including its pioneering eCommerce partnership

with Netscape. Prior to that, she worked in international development, bidding and

managing World-Bank funded STEM education projects in Asia, Europe, and Latin

America. She began her career in China.

Jane is an alumna of Middlebury College and its language immersion programs,

Thunderbird School of Global Management and Singularity University, based at NASA’s

Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley.
