Biography

Hope Koch is an Associate Professor in Baylor University’s Information Systems & Business Analytics Program, where she holds the Godfrey Sullivan Chair.

Hope has taught, published, and presented on digital technologies and digital transformation. The Journal of Strategic Information Systems, the European Journal of Information Systems, and the Communications of the Association for Information Systems have awarded Hope and her co-authors best paper awards. Besides her scholarly achievements, the Southwestern Busines Dean’s Association, ConocoPhillips, and the Yoe Foundation have recognized her work developing students. Hope has served as the faculty sponsor for the Baylor chapters of the Association for Information Technology Professionals since 2007.

The first in her family to attend college, Hope holds a doctorate in Information & Operations Management from Texas A&M University. She also earned an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She began her career as a Certified Public Accountant for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., during their transformational growth period. As a 5th generation Texan, Hope invests in her community. She has served on development boards at Temple College, Texas State University, and Baylor University. Since 2002, she and her husband have operated the Callaway Foundation, which grants nearly $500,000 in college scholarships annually.

Hope is a fitness enthusiast and has competed in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, climbed the highest mountain in Africa, and hiked across the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim.
