COURSE DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the accounting information systems component of ACC4502.  This portion of the course will introduce you to accounting information systems concepts.  After completing the course, you should understand how automated accounting information systems can be used to capture and report the various transactions in which an entity may participate.  Additionally, you should understand the concepts of an adequate internal control structure over the accounting information system.  Throughout the course, emphasis will be given to integration of accounting information systems with other functional areas of accounting, such as auditing, financial reporting, taxation, and managerial accounting.
