Women should be advised to follow these steps exactly to begin using NuvaRing^® effectively:

1. Note the first day of menstrual cycle on the calendar. Mark as Day 1.
2. Insert NuvaRing^® on Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, or Day 5.
3. Use another form of contraceptive (such as a male condom or spermicide) for the first seven days.
