There are several progestin-only contraceptive methods.
Refer to the list below for specific start dates for each progestin-only method:
- Progestin-only pill: Take last pill and insert NuvaRing®
the very next day.
- Contraceptive implant: Insert NuvaRing® same day
as implant is removed.
- Progestin-containing IUD: Insert NuvaRing® same day
IUD is removed.
- Contraceptive Injection: Insert NuvaRing® same day
next injection is due.
In all these cases, the patient should be advised to use an additional method
of contraception for the first seven days after insertion of the ring.
