Biography
Dr. Varga is a lecturer in the Department of Communication at Baylor University teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in interpersonal, nonverbal, and professional communication. She is dedicated to the success of her students in and out of the classroom and is grateful to have the opportunity to develop others as communicators professionally and personally.
Following her Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts from Texas A&M University, Dr. Varga had the opportunity to serve as a K – 12 substitute and full-time middle school and high school teacher at an inner-city private Christian school in her hometown of San Antonio, TX. She then made the move to higher education in 2013 by first obtaining her M.A. in Communication Studies from Baylor University and then her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been teaching at Baylor since 2015 and still feels a rush of excitement every time she steps foot on Baylor’s campus. From academics to athletics, it is evident there is a heart and soul to this community that is unlike any other place on earth. Dr. Varga feels blessed to teach, research, and serve at a university with such an inspiring mission and exceptional students. When not on campus, Dr. Varga is likely volunteering in the church where her husband serves on staff, or together enjoying food, reading, making music, or being outdoors with their four children.
