ABO Research
Conference
October, 2000
The 2000 ABO Section
Research Conference will be held in downtown Chicago over the
Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 6-7). Negotiations with hotels are in
process and a more precise venue will be announced soon. Several
innovations are being considered for this meeting. The section is
attempting to secure a commitment from a notable academic from
outside accounting as a plenary speaker. The section is also
planning to offer doctoral students an opportunity to present
their work in concurrent sessions. Special reduced registration
costs will be offered to those in pursuit of their degrees. The
section will soon be formally soliciting papers that make
contributions to the diverse traditions of scholarship in
behavioral accounting. A March deadline is contemplated. Plan on
joining us in a city that is convenient for everyone to reach. An
optional recreational activity is also being planned.
