Leading Accounting and Business Law Program: A leader creates a vision and motivates others. The Department of Accounting strives to provide leadership in the integration of teaching and research; it strives to be an exemplar in both active learning and scholarly exploration.

Engages Participants: To engage participants means to involve and to challenge students, faculty, and others in both active learning and scholarly exploration that leads to a lifelong commitment to learning.

Active Learning: Active learners accept responsibility and accountability for their own learning by actively, rather than passively, engaging in the learning process. Active learning also included sharing knowledge with others.

Scholarly Exploration: Scholarly exploration advances knowledge through the scholarships of discovery (reserach), intergration (synthesis), application (practice), and teaching, and through the search for and discovery of each individual's potential, abilities, and interests.

Community: A community empowers members to participate meaningfully in its activities and its continuous improvement. Members participate because they are accepted by others, take responsibility for the organization's work, and share in the organization's success.

Christian Values: Christian values include a strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, and a respect for the worth of very individual. These values permeate the work of the faculty, fostering a concern for all participants and a sense of service to others.
