Turn-based Go Guild

The Turn-based Go Guild was established for those who enjoy turn-based Go on the internet. Since the turn-based servers are now so good, the Guild is now basically inactive except for the e-mail list (which is not very active).

Turn-based Go Servers
(Listed alphabetically)
Dragon Go Server
Its Your Turn
Kiseido Go Server
Little Golem Turn-based Game Server
Online-Go

Brief overview of each server:

Dragon Go Server: The Dragon server is a dedicated turn-based Go server that was created by one of the Guild's original members Eric O.

Its Your Turn: Its Your Turn offers many games besides Go. Unfortunately, the scoring subroutine rarely scores Go games correctly. The Kiseido Go Server is primarly a real-time Go server, but you can play turn-based games.

Kiseido Go Server: One advantage of KGS is that during a game you can switch between real-time and turn-based play in the middle of a game. The main disadvantage of KGS is that both players must be logged on at the same time to start a game. While you cannot leave messages during a turn-based game on KGS, you can leave your opponent a message using the KGS message system.

Little Golem: The Little Golem Turn-based Game Server offers Go as well as other turn-based games. The focus of Little Golem is tournaments and was created by long-time Guild member Rio Malaschitz.

Online-Go: On-line Go is the newest turn-based Go server with features such as conditional moves, tournaments, Japanese/Chinese scoring, and auto/manual handicaps.
