Biography

Nancy G. Sánchez is a Senior Lecturer in the Information Systems department at Baylor University. Sánchez joined the faculty at Baylor in 2000 and has taught a combination of undergraduate courses including Information Technology & Processing, Management Information Systems, Systems Analysis & Design, and Database Design. Prior to her position at Baylor, Sánchez was on faculty at the University of Texas at Arlington where she taught Advanced Systems Design and a graduate course in Analysis & Design. In 1999, Sánchez received UTA’s Association of Information Technology Professionals’ Information Systems Faculty of the Year award. Sánchez also taught at Texas A&M University as a graduate student, where she also did research in the area of software reuse.

Sánchez was previously employed in industry at Sprint and Oryx Energy where she was a database administrator and systems analyst. Sánchez was involved in numerous projects involving database performance improvement, data design and security, backup and recovery, and information systems development. In addition, Sánchez has developed automation software for database maintenance and other internal IS activities which resulted in significant savings in time and cost to the organization. In recent years, Sánchez has done software development in the area of operations management as well as educational software.
