Biography

Christopher Besser was born in Stuttgart, Germany to Colonel (Ret.) Dr. William and Martha Besser (Peterson). He is married, and along with his wife, April, they have three sons (Caleb, Brennan, and Tristan) and a daughter (Kiersten). Christopher is a commissioned Medical Service Corps officer in the Medical Command of the United States Army. Christopher received his military commission and undergraduate degree in History from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After returning from his deployment to Iraqi Freedom II, he obtained his Master in Health Administration and Master of Business Administration from Baylor University. Christopher holds fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Academy of Medical Administrators. While attending the University of Florida for his PhD in Health Services Research, Management, and Policy, he concurrently completed a Master of Science in Family, Youth, and Community (Concentration in Nonprofit Organization Development). During his tenure at the University of Florida, he developed his current research interest in behavioral health access and utilization patterns of adolescents.
