The 1996 International Symposium on Audit Research

On June 24-25, 1996, The Maastricht Accounting and Auditing Research Center (MARC) of the University of Limburg will co-host the second annual International Symposium on Audit Research. MARC is the host of the Maastricht Audit Research Symposium which has been held annually in Maastricht, The Netherlands, since 1991. This year we continue a cooperative venture with the Center for Accounting Research at the University of Southern California (USC). USC has sponsored the annual USC Audit Judgment Symposium since 1982. The Maastricht Audit Research Symposium and Audit Judgment Symposium have now merged into this single symposium.

The scope of the International Symposium on Audit Research is intended to be broad and include papers and panels that deal with economic or behavioral aspects of auditing and utilize any of a broad range of research methodologies. The 1995 Symposium identified a number of topics of interest including:

To be eligible for presentation, manuscripts should follow the "Instructions to Authors" published in Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. Please pay particular attention to the format and length requirements. Manuscripts should not exceed 7,000 words or approximately 18-25 double-spaced pages including tables, figures and references.

Paper Submission Deadline

Papers (four copies) must be received by February 15, 1996. Some financial support will be available for presenters of selected papers.
